I’ve been reflecting on how 2019 has already been filled with so much love. I started off the new year with a wedding, and seemingly every week was filled with celebrations of love and friendship. It’s going to be a good year.
During January I wrote and submitted my first article to CCCA’s InSite magazine. God is doing incredible things here – He’s opening doors that I have been praying about for years. I’m excited to share the article with you in the March/April edition of InSite!
I’m learning to devote my attention to the right projects at the right time. As much as I enjoyed work with Podcast Fast Track, in order to fully commit to the missions God has given me right now, I had to focus my attention on what was going to put me on a more direct path towards the dream I have of working in Christian camping ministry. During January I left Podcast Fast Track, but I will be eternally grateful for all that I learned working with a talented team and for a leader who truly cares about his people.
Updates from Spring Canyon
Deep winter is a quieter time at the Canyon. We still serve weekend groups from local churches and ministries, but we have time to enjoy the winter and the coziness that comes with it.
My boss’s youngest daughter got married on the 19th at Spring Canyon; it was straight out of a winter wonderland fairytale. People all around me are starting their forevers together and I couldn’t be happier for them.
Updates from The Loft
We kicked off the New Year with a bang at the Loft Music Venue! A couple celebrated their first year of marriage on 31 December and they had their official wedding ceremony at 12:15 am on 1 January. (They had been legally married the year prior, on 31 December 2017.) It was exhausting, but I wouldn’t have traded that exciting New Year’s evening for anything.
On 19 January I coordinated my first wedding at the Loft Theater. Shelly and Eric’s wedding demonstrated to me just how particular wedding plans can become, and I was blessed to have an incredible team of people by my side. I wouldn’t have been able to make it happen without their time and talents.
The final plans are coming together on the mezzanine-level – we’re anxious to have the construction phase finished.
Winter Fun in Colorado
My dear friend Kimmy came to visit from California this month. I visited with her in December when I attended the CCCA National Conference, and she was able to come out for a visit during her winter break. We took her skiing, we took a trip to Colorado Springs, and we had a lovely time showing her the town the Loft Theater family calls home.
Friends from Spring Canyon and I went to Breckenridge, Colorado for a girls’ day – window shopping, skating, and general antics. I think of how lucky I am to have such good friends, across age ranges and across states.
