Reflecting on June – 2018

This year marks the first summer since 2011 I haven’t lived and worked at a camp/ranch. While it was challenging to realize this a few weeks ago, I’ve come to love spending the summer at a more leisurely pace. Mornings spent writing at the local coffee shops, late nights with friends, and a variety of work projects have been keeping me busy!

This month’s chosen adventures include visiting a fellow wrangler friend at her new ranch in Kremmling, hiking in the Leadville area, and spending a day in Colorado Springs with a new friend from California. Life sure looks good from the top of Pike’s Peak at 14,114′!

Exceeding everyone’s expectations when our team hosts weddings at the Loft has become one of my new favorite things. I never guessed I would enjoy decorating, planning, and facilitating other peoples’ weddings so much, but it’s great to see the joy on the couple’s faces when they walk in and see the space of their dreams! Our team works exceptionally well together, and I’m excited to see all the events we handle in the future.

On June 28 a new wildfire began in Park County, known as the #WestonPass fire. Hundreds of grounds crew, handfuls of helicopters, and support aircraft are battling the blaze, and thankfully it’s not threatening Buena Vista at all. Rain is desperately needed throughout Colorado to combat the fires burning across the state.
